Do I need an appointment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, appointments are required for spa services.

You can make an appointment via our online booking system o(https://booking.mangomint.com/uniqueandspecialkidsspa/silkrosespa)r by (703) 360-3700.

Appointment cancellations or reschedules should be done through the online system or by phone no later than 24 hours before your appointment, after which a cancellation/rescheduling fee may be applied to your account. Cancellations or reschedules via email are not accepted.

We offer a 15-minute grace period, after which your appointment will be canceled, and a 50% no-show fee (excluding massage) will be applied to your account.

Massage appointments should be canceled, at least, 24 hrs in advance to avoid the "no-show" fee (the total cost of the service).

Question 3

What happens if I am late or miss my appointment?

Appointments will be held for 15 minutes, after which a 50% no-show fee will be applied to your account.

For massage appointments, the total cost of the service will be applied to your account. Massage appointments should be cancelled, at least, 24 hrs in advance to avoid the fee.

What is customary gratuity and how can I pay it?

Customary gratuity for personal service providers is anywhere between 18-25% (although more is certainly appreciated) of the total bill, before discounts.  You can leave a gratuity for your personal service provider(s) using Cash, Cashapp, or Venmo.  If you have more than one provider, you will want to leave each one a separate gratuity. A copy of your bill total can be provided to you for gratuity calculations. An ATM is available, on-site, for cash gratuity. We do not make change for bills larger than $50.

For group spa packages, an 18% service charge will be added to the final invoice that is due 5 days before the event.

Question 5

How many people are considered a "Group" and how do I book for mine?

Accepted Answer

A "Group" is 3 or more spa-goers desiring to be serviced at the same appointment time. A deposit will be required to confirm the booking and the remaining balance is due 5 days before the service date or paid in full (if booked within 5 days of the service date). Once your space has been reserved and staffing has been set aside for your group event, no refunds are given for last-minute cancellations or no-shows.

For group spa packages and events, please arrive 15 minutes before time of appointment.

Can I use a Mynd Body Connect gift card for a group booking?

Gift cards cannot be used for group bookings for more than three people. Mynd Body Connect gift cards can only be used for services for one or two people.

What is the gratuity for group bookings?

18% Gratuity is automatically applied to all group bookings of three or more people. Check out the Group/Membership/Rental page to book a space rental or a group spa experience.

What is Lymphatic Massage and what are its benefits?

Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, is a gentle massage that encourages the drainage of lymph nodes and the movement of lymph fluids around the body. It can help relieve symptoms of lymphedema as the fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from body tissues. This involves the use of gentle movements to stretch and move the skin in the direction of lymph flow. This massage will usually last 15 to 60 minutes depending on if it is used in connection with a facial or for the full body. Lymphatic drainage is a great tool for weight loss and supports a well-rounded healthy weight loss program that involves exercise and a healthy diet. Lymphatic drainage massage – used in conjunction with exercise, skincare, and compression garments – can support the body's immune defenses by increasing the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body.

If I am pregnant, can I receive a prenatal massage?

Pregnancy & Prenatal Massage Policy: 
We offer specialized prenatal massages performed exclusively by our certified and highly trained therapists.

For the safety and well-being of both mother and baby, Mynd Body Connect does not provide prenatal or any other type of massage during the first trimester (the initial 12 weeks of pregnancy).

We will happily book your prenatal massage for after you have reached the 12-week mark.
Clients who are pregnant are required to book the specific 'Prenatal Massage' service online. If a client books a regular massage while pregnant, they will be ineligible for the service upon arrival, and our standard cancellation policy may apply.

Medical Clearance Required:Clients must obtain verbal or written clearance from their healthcare provider (OB-GYN or physician) before receiving a prenatal massage. This is especially important for high-risk pregnancies or those with pre-existing conditions such as gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, history of blood clots, or sudden swelling/edema.

Like spending a sunny day on the beach, it can help your overall mood.

During a facial, the purported benefits include an increase in the amount of collagen in the skin, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other stigmata of aging. Other uses of LED light therapy include acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, scarring, and sun damage. For example: Red LED light therapy may reduce inflammation and stimulate the production of collagen, a protein responsible for younger-looking skin that diminishes with age. Blue LED light therapy may destroy acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes). Overall, we offer 6 different target color options which are discussed in a brief consultation before your facial service.

May I receive services if I have allergies?

We are an allergy-friendly company. We try our best to be accommodating of allergy limitations.

Our in-house made lip balm, used during facials, contains sweet almond oil. Substitutions are available.

Our charcuterie platters are freshly prepared including almonds. Omission of almonds is available.

If you have allergies, please list them in the notes section while booking your appointment online or state your allergies when booking your appointment over the phone.
